Cookie Policy
Last Updated: March 14, 2026
This Cookie Policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how Black Lantern Tattoo Studio LLC (“Black Lantern Tattoo Studio”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data more broadly. This page explains what cookies are, what categories of cookies we use on our website, and how you can manage your choices.
Our studio is located at 520 8th Ave, 16th Floor, Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY 10018, United States. If you have questions about cookies or privacy, contact us at [email protected].
1) What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies help websites remember preferences, keep sessions working correctly, and understand how visitors use pages.
In addition to cookies, some measurement and advertising tools use similar technologies such as pixel tags (sometimes called “web beacons”) and server-side event signals. These can be used to measure page performance, attribute conversions (for example, when someone submits a contact request), and support remarketing. We treat those tools under the same consent categories described below.
2) Cookie lifespans and origins
- Session cookies exist only while your browser is open and are deleted when you close it.
- Persistent cookies remain for a set period or until you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by our website domain.
- Third-party cookies are set by service providers (for example, analytics or advertising platforms) when those tools are enabled by your consent.
Not every visit results in every cookie being set. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you consent to those categories in our cookie preferences.
3) Cookie categories we use
Essential cookies (always active)
These cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off in our system. They support core features like session continuity, security controls, and storing your cookie preferences.
Analytics cookies (optional)
If you opt in, analytics cookies help us understand website usage, such as which pages are visited and how long visitors stay. We use this information to improve page structure, content clarity, and site performance. When implemented, we typically use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) configured with IP anonymization where applicable, and we aim to keep data retention aligned with standard industry settings (commonly 14 months).
Marketing cookies (optional)
If you opt in, marketing cookies support advertising attribution and remarketing (for example, showing an ad to someone who previously visited the Services page). These cookies can also help measure which ad campaigns lead to contact requests. When implemented, marketing tools may include Google Ads and Meta advertising products. Marketing cookies are not required to use the site.
We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes.
4) Cookie table
The list below includes common cookies associated with the categories above. Actual cookies present in your browser depend on your consent settings and which tools are enabled.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _site_session | Site session continuity | Essential | First-party | Session |
| cookie_consent | Stores your consent choice | Essential | First-party | 12 months |
| _ga | GA4 user identifier | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads conversion linker | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel browser identifier | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta Pixel click identifier | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
If a cookie name changes (for example, a GA4 property suffix), the purpose and category remain the same. Where tools are not enabled, the corresponding cookies will not be set.
5) Third-party providers
Depending on your consent choices and the tools enabled at any given time, we may use the following service providers:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager)
- Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel and related conversion/remarketing features)
- Cloudflare (CDN and security services)
These providers may set cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies when their services are active. We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes.
6) How to manage your cookie preferences
You can manage optional cookie categories at any time by using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer. This will reopen our cookie controls so you can accept, reject, or customize analytics and marketing cookies.
You can also control cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to delete cookies and block new cookies. If you disable all cookies, essential site features may not work correctly.
